Silk scarf eco printed with eucalyptus windfall leaves from Jugiong, NSW
Vibrant pinks with fabulous distinct markings of the leaves and gumnuts
180cm x 35cm 100% silk with hand rolled hem, a slightly larger scarf
The softness of the silk is beautiful and can be worn all year round
The eco-printing process I use involves wrapping the leaves around the fabric, tying tightly and boiling for many hours. I use a piece of salvaged metal in the boil, which also gives colour and interest to the finished result. I don't use any chemical or powdered mordants in any of my products. The scarves are colourfast and can be washed by hand with a pure soap.
