Stars and Vines Quilt

Description

This is a small quilt – a lap quilt or cot quilt or play mat. It fits the suggested width for a lap quilt in a wheelchair.
The squares were cut to 5 cm (2") square, so once sewn they are just under 4cm (1.5") square. My aim was to make a quilt with lots of colour and interesting bits of fabrics. I then quilted the pieced section with wiggles and stars and the border with vine leaves.
The front is multicoloured with some blocks of navy blue, and the back is a bright blue batik. The free-motion quilting (in dark blue thread) shows on both sides. The binding was attached by machine on the front, but by hand on the back because that is neater.
The price you pay, minus packing and shipping, will be donated to WIRES, the Australian Wildlife Rescue Association.
The quilt is 93 x 135 cm, and all cotton. It has been machine washed (I had to wash some guide lines out) and dried in a dryer on hot. It should not shrink with further washes. Cold wash is recommended to maintain the bright colours.
The price reflects the cost of the

materials, rather than my time and effort in making it. This is handmade, and thus the stitching is not perfect.
