Description
Lays eggs? Check. Finds its dinner by sensing electricity? Also check. The platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is one of the world's few egg-laying mammals, and it finds its food with electroreceptors in its bill.
I made this platypus from native Australian flowers, placing every petal and stem by hand, then let the sun print it in blue and white.
The original has sold, but the platypus lives on in this reproduction print. Commissions are welcome, so message me through Madeit if you'd like one. A sweet fit for kids' rooms, nurseries and platypus fans, and it makes a set with my whale shark and echidna prints.

What is a cyanotype?
Cyanotype is a photographic process that's over 180 years old. I paint paper with a light-sensitive solution, lay real plants on top and let the sun do the rest. The plants leave white silhouettes on deep blue.
