Echidna Wall Art Print, Limited Edition A3

Description

Lays an egg into a pouch, feeds its young milk and has back feet that face backwards. The short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus) clearly skipped the mammal rulebook.
Echidnas and the platypus are the only mammals in the world that lay eggs. Those backward-facing hind feet are for digging, and when it's threatened, it curls into a spiny ball.
This is Wambiyala, my echidna made entirely from native Australian flowers. Wambiyala is a Wiradjuri language word. I was given permission to use it by Gundungarra Elders from Pejar Local Aboriginal Land Council.
The original has sold, so this limited edition reproduction is the way to bring Wambiyala home, numbered and signed by hand. Commissions are welcome through Madeit. One for echidna lovers, and a natural set with my platypus and whale shark editions.
