Handwoven blue fabric table runner

Description

This beautiful aboriginal print fabric has created a stunning, meaningful centerpiece for your table. An eye-catching home decor item woven on my rigid heddle loom.
I started the process with ripping the cotton fabric into strips. I have then woven the strips and alternated with cotton yarn to create this fabric table runner. The scalloped edges the fabric have created as part of the design add a visual softness and structural movement.
There is something incredibly transformative and therapeutic about watching a neat, woven piece of fabric completely change its character the moment it is torn into strips. The exposed threads fray beautifully, instantly shifting the aesthetic from smooth and pristine to rustic, textured and full of organic personality.

All items are handwashed after being made and dried flat or hung from a washing line or airer. So, the same process would be required for washing if you wish to do so.
