Ancient Traces Shopping Bag

Description

The grey and cream strips (with a hint of purple and brown) that make this bag have the appearance of ancient writing or symbols. Pieced from batik, this unique eye-catching bag is large enough to fit the contents of a ‘green’ supermarket bag, or A4 folders and necessities for a day out or a day of study. The bag was sewn, sandwiched with wadding and then quilted on a home sewing machine (with hand-sewing to finish the binding). The quilting adds strength, as does the padding, and may add a little insulation. A metal loop inside could be used for keys or a phone. Unlike supermarket bags this is all cotton, including the wadding, the handles, all the fabric and the threads, and can be machine washed (cold is recommended).
The price you pay, minus packing and shipping, will be donated to WIRES, the Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service.
The bag measures 35 x 38 x 17 cm on the outside and the straps are both 37 x 3cm.
Machine washing is easy in cold water and will not add to the plastic plague of our time. Dry in the shade. Iron on a cotton setting.
